The ClarkHouse Human Capital 3rd #ICHOOSECOURAGE leadership dinner moves to Cape Town in August, where we will once again be hosting a number of inspirational executive leaders from diverse industries and backgrounds. Here we will share stories, experiences and theories in order to grow the #ICHOOSECOURAGE leadership concept.
In the words of Maya Angelo “Courage is the most important of all the virtues, because without courage you can't practice any other virtue consistently. You can practice any virtue erratically, but nothing consistently without courage.”
In short, fear-based leadership is becoming the new norm. Fear to act, fear to make hard calls and fear to simply step up and lead. Fear-based leadership destroys confidence, trust, and purpose. It dilutes ethics and it slows innovation. With less fear and more courage, leaders take on bolder projects, deal better with change and speak up more willingly about important issues that impact their staff and society. That is why #ICHOOSECOURAGE is so important.
This peer-to-peer learning leadership series continues to focus on how we can create more courageous leadership in society. Courage to adapt to change and problem solve in very uncertain times. Courage to have hard conversations as well as ethical decision making. This series looks at the ‘HOW’. How do we build courageous leadership principles, how do we be courageous more consistently? This is the vision of the #ICHOOSECOURAGE concept.
Again, we will be joined by Duncan Woods who will be driving the concept of courageous leadership alongside our CE Roy Clark.
